The patio wheel adjusting screws are located at either end of the bottom section of the door. Some patio doors have a blanking plug covering the adjustment hole, remove the plug and use a torch to shine into the bottom section of the door to determine where the screw is located and what type of screw it is. There maybe two screws that are visible, one is an adjustment screw and the other is a fixing screw that holds the patio frame together. Use a long screwdriver to turn the adjusting screw in a clockwise direction to raise the patio. Adjust both wheels the same and check if the patio is level by almost closing the door and noting the gap between the door and the frame. Adjust the wheels until the gap is even all the way down. You may need to move the door locking keeper on the frame after adjusting the wheels. If this didnt solve the problem you may need to replace the patio wheels.
It is now easier to choose the style for your door because homeowners now have more choices. In the old days, most patios can do with any kind of door. Some even think that any door is good enough just as long as it closes and opens when you please it. Of course, if you want your home to be in style then you also have to make sure that the patio door style you choose should not go against your homes general theme.
Most people are familiar with the sliding glass patio doors. Usually, this is two doors with big, open space windows that allow a lot of light into the home. The doors use a sliding track system that has little round discs sitting inside a mechanism providing traction. Sliding glass doors made out of wood can be plain or very dramatic in design. It really depends on what you envision for your particular home decor.
Patios are not only great additions to the household, but also count in the overall features of the home. From the interior of the house, a person enters the terrace through an outdoor. These doors are commonly made of a single, door-sized glass panel which is installed into a door frame and door jambs.Patio doors create an illusion of a bigger space within the house because of the transparent glass that makes the outside area visible from inside. Through the porch door, the beautiful patio, the blue sky, and the bright sun can all be seen.
After fitting the new wheels, make sure that they are adjusted completely flat or into the bottom section. This will give you more room when re-fitting the patio door. The wheels can be adjusted to the correct height after the door is fitted into the frame. Spray the wheels with a silicone lubricating spray. Before re-fitting the door, clear out any debris such as leaves and dirt from the track and spray the track, locking mechanism and top door channel with a silicone lubricating spray. Re-fit the door and adjust the wheels as described above.
An alternative solution is to order patio doors with integral horizontal blinds, factory sealed inside the double-glazing cavity. Proven to be reliable, the blinds can be operated via a magnet system (there is an alternative electronic option) that enables the slats to be easily angled to control the amount of light filtering through and can also raise and lower the blinds for maximum light or shade. A major advantage of opting for internally sealed blinds rather than separate blinds is that they are totally maintenance-free - no arduous dusting or cleaning - and because the blinds are encapsulated inside the glazed panels, they are exceptionally difficult to break.
